FAQs

What are pediatric orthotics?

Custom pediatric orthotics are specially designed shoe inserts made to support your child’s feet as they grow. They help improve alignment, reduce strain on muscles and joints, and support proper movement during walking, running, and sports.

Children may benefit from orthotics if they have:

  • Foot fatigue or pain during activity
    • If your child is avoiding activity or complaining of foot or leg pain, it may be time to consider support.
  • Severity of a Foot Condition
    • Heel pain (Sever’s disease)
    • Flat feet or low arches

Most orthotics are designed for adults and simply scaled down for children. Ours are built differently.

At Pediatric Orthotics, every device is created specifically for growing feet and tailored to your child’s foot condition — whether that’s heel pain (Sever’s disease), flat feet or any other foot pain that is impairing your child’s day to day activities.

Backed by over a decade of pediatric podiatry experience, our approach focuses on:

  • Correcting alignment, not just adding support
  • Condition-specific modifications for more precise treatment
  • Faster results, helping many children improve within weeks

We combine medical expertise with a simple at-home process, making it easier for families to get the right support without unnecessary delays or costly medical office visits.

Many children begin to feel relief within 2–4 weeks of consistent use. Improvement continues as the body adapts, with significant changes often seen within 4–6 weeks depending on the condition.

No. Our at-home process allows you to get started without an in-office visit. We provide clear instructions to capture your child’s foot shape so your orthotics can be custom-made and delivered directly to you.

Absolutely! Yes!  Store-bought insoles are not designed for specific pediatric conditions. Our orthotics are customized, condition-specific, and built to support proper development — not just cushion the foot.

Yes. Our devices are designed to fit into most everyday shoes, including:

  • Sneakers
  • Cleats
  • School shoes
This allows your child to stay active without interruption.

In many cases, proper support early on can help reduce the need for more invasive treatments. Our goal is to correct alignment and relieve stress on the foot so children can improve naturally as they grow.

We commonly help children with:

  • Sever’s disease (heel pain)
  • Flat feet
  • Toe walking
  • Foot fatigue and overuse injuries
    • Each device is tailored to the specific condition.

The best place to start is by identifying your child’s condition. Our site is designed to guide you by condition first, then recommend the most appropriate orthotic or brace for support.
